Sleeping Beauty

Ben had a fairly restful night. He had a couple 3 hour blocks of uninterrupted sleep. He has not thrown up since midnight, and has had a few sips of Sprite this morning, but his stomach is still queasy. He is really hoping to get rid of his catheter today, and be able to get up and stretch his legs. He is pretty sleepy from all the morphine that's he's been getting. And he freely admits that he would rather be in school than at the hospital today.

Also, room service just dropped by, so Ben can now order his own clear liquids!

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. We truly appreciate it.

  1. Goodness, what a picture! Give Ben our love. Hope you two got some sleep last night too. Hope he feels much better today. Wish we were nearer and could come visit him in the hospital. The boys say hi too.

  3. I'm glad he was able to get a little rest, that is good! Today will hopefully go better, Gage and Noah are really concerned and hope he can feel better soon.

I don't care about how long you've had to prepare for it, I still think you are pretty awesome:) We will just keep praying things go well this week so next weeks surgery can work out the best:)

Hopefully you can order some food too (not just clear liquids...although brown diet coke liquids might help:)) and get some rest too.

  4. That boy has GOT to be starving! Especially if he only got clear liquids before the surgery. Maybe they have bacon flavored broth?

  8. I hope you don't mind, but I've asked my 800 Facebook friends to pray for Ben.
I've also had Daniel outside Walmart, with the picture you just posted of Ben, panhandling money so we can take Ben out to Ruth's Chris' Steakhouse post-second-surgery.
